Achievements so far

What have we done?

Good question. We know people like numbers for things like this, so we did some maths and came up with some numbers which can tell you a bit about what we have achieved so far. They are good numbers, but we do not feel they tell you about our biggest achievements.

The things we are really proud of do not fit into numbers, they are the stories we hear from the people we support, their families, their friends and the people who work with us.  They are the stories of when something nice has happened, someone had a good day or got to somewhere they were going.  It is difficult to put these stories on a website because lots are too fleeting, some are private and others are quite personal.  We have managed to make films of a few stories and we are looking to make some more, but until then we have the numbers...

Living

• In a normal week we support people for around 3699 hours
• We support 140 people to live in their own homes
• CQC has rated all our registered services as “Good” or better

Learning

• Our Travel Mates have supported 41 people to use public transport. 4 people are now totally independent travellers, 2 of which are now themselves Travel Mates.
• HAIL is registered with City and Guilds to offer NVQs
• 20 people a week come to our music and arts workshops and 10 have just finished their DJ training.

Working

• Since 2003 we have supported over 200 people to find jobs and work opportunities
• We have supported 8 people to start their own enterprises
• 31 have people with a learning disability have got paid job with HAIL through our enterprise and peer support schemes

Loving

• Through Stars in the Sky HAIL has helped 304 people to find a long term relationship, 18 people to get engaged, 1 couple to have a civil partnership
• We have supported 8 other organizations that support people with a learning disability to set up dating agencies.
