What we do

HAIL works with people with a learning disability. The people we work with are people who are over 18 however we will work with people who are coming up to 18 to help them identify what services they need before they come an adult.

We recognise that people our individuals and should be treated so, we work with each individual service user to provide a service which meets individual needs and wishes. We also believe that people with a learning disability should be supported on a day to day basis but also have a plan for their future.

HAIL access community housing, manages this housing, and provides a direct care and support service to people with a learning disability. Within this we want service users to make choices in their lives on where they want to live, who they want to live with, and how they wish to be supported.

We offer many different support services:

  • Residential Care, which provides people with staff available on a 24 hour basis including support during the night
  • Supported Housing, people living on their own or with others of their choice with staff arranged to meet need. This could be on a 24 hour basis or as and when required.
  • Floating support service with people living in their own accommodation who are supported when they need support. Again this can range from several hours each day to a few hours each week
  • Flexible staffing which supports service users at times requested by them incorporating permanent staff, sessional workers and volunteers.
  • Employment Opportunities supporting people to access work opportunities both paid, voluntary, and training which will support employment (accredited First Aid, Food hygiene etc.)

We also choice in the type and location of housing from 1 bedroom flats, blocks of flats with a shared communal area: and shared housing. These include Housing Association properties, Council housing, and privately leased accommodation.
